There are a lot of good things to say about this wrap, however we’ll stick to our top 3 pros for now:
- Longer Cold Retention – As long as you store the ice packs in the freezer for the recommended period of time (min 90 mins), then you can enjoy longer icing times that you would with a regular ice pack.
- Durable Velcro – The Velcro held on strong, even after we tested the wrap several times, on several different people.
- The Compression Factor – Definitely something everyone should have if they plan on icing any body part. With the added compression, you prevent more swelling from happening and it makes the connection more secure between the gel pack and the skin, which gives you a deeper cold treatment.
Cons (or possible areas of improvement)
Like any product, there are positive aspects, and certain things that need to be improved. At least in our opinion. Here’s our list of recommended upgrades for this product:
- The instructional booklet needs a bit of work. Although it’s an easy wrap to put on, the instructions could have a bit more details. (Note: When we spoke to the company about this, they mentioned that they have already revamped their instructional booklet and are in the process of updating their existing packages.)
- The wrap only goes up to 49″ inches, so people with bigger waistlines may need to look elsewhere. Or, they can wait for the larger size to be available. We were told that it should be available around October/November this year.
All in all, this product is a great choice if you are looking for some pain relief for your back and hips. We didn’t have the opportunity to test it against bruised ribs, but the company claims that it does a good job for that as well. If you are currently suffering with any type of back or hip pain, it may be just what you need.
